In Week 7 we will begin our speeches on a particular animal and it’s habitat.
For example: Killer Whales (not just whales)

Your speech will be marked out of 20 and I will be looking at 4 different areas, each area is worth 5 marks.

The four areas are:

  • Eye Contact – To be able to look at the audience and not just read.
  • Clarity – How clearly you speak.
  • Topic - How well you have researched your topic.
  • Structure –
Introduction – Usually a welcome message followed by a brief definition.
Description – Detailed facts about your topic.
Conclusion – Your personal opinion about the topic.

Websites to use for your speech:

  • The Animal Spot
  • Creature Adventure
  • Rainforest Animals
  • Tundra Animals
  • Desert Animals
  • Blue Planet Biomes: Animals
  • Missouri Botanical Gardens
  • Google (please make sure you are supervised)

One Response to “Public Speaking: Animals and their Habitat”

    1.   Jack Says:

Spider monkeys are often found in tropical rainforests in the Western Hemisphere from Central Mexico to Central Bolivia. They eat fruits, seeds, and other plants. Spider monkeys can hang by their tails and can pick objects up with it by curling the tail around the object. Spider monkeys often swing through the trees fast.
Different species of spider monkeys have black, brown, gold, reddish, or tan fur. Adults weigh 10 to 19 pounds and grow almost 2 feet tall. Spider monkeys, unlike most primates, have 4 fingers and no thumb.

Spider monkeys are one of the most threatened New World monkeys. They have been hunted to extinction in the Amazon Basin. It’s our job to save them
